Snooze Blues
by dclary on Mar.05, 2009, under Potpourri
One part of my life that is very un-Grok like is that I have to use an alarm clock to ensure I get up early enough to get to work on time. My take is that our primal ancestors didn’t suffer from lack of sleep–unfortunately that’s one area where I could use some improvement but it’s hard for me to do. I seem to have an internal clock that says I should sleep from 11pm to 7am; however, I have to be at work at 6:30am. I’ve tried going to bed earlier than 11 but it just doesn’t work for me. So I guess I’m just stuck getting by on six hours for now. This morning was one of those days I have from time to time where I just didn’t feel like getting up. I can give myself an extra half hour by driving in rather than cycling, so that’s what I did this morning. Perhaps subconsciously I was replaying Dead Wrong Dale’s (our local weather guy) forecast of winds in the upper 40s blowing in my face on the way home today. But then a day off for my legs isn’t a bad thing.
